Sweater & Hat For Baby Drew

Here is a sweater & hat that I made for baby Drew. It is still way to big for him but they don't stay little for long, do they?? Also, made a blanket to match.

He is about 2 months old here. It is made from a worsted weight yarn in Red Heart Kids. I like to use the RH Kids on children's projects because it is much softer than the other RH yarns, so better for little ones.

I am working on the yellow romper still. It is almost finished but I've orders that I have had to do first so haven't finished it yet. All that is left is for me to put on the leg bands & snaps. I hope to finish it next week for sure.

I have a GC sweater that I am making for my grandson. I've the front, back & one sleeve finished. I've had to set it aside for a while so I can work on the lace romper, because I needed that machine for the lace.  I am going to do the leg bands for the romper on my SR 840, so that I can get my GC moving again & finish the sweater.

Orders Finished .... Back to Scrappies

Finished my orders until some more come in. I decided to knit a scrappie for the women's shelter while I had the time. It's made with more of the Red Heart Soft Baby that I knitted up on my SR 860, size 2. I did my usual with the short rowed, grafted neckband. The sleeves are also grafted with the loop through loop bind off.

My clothes dryer is misbehaving. I am having the repairman come in on Monday to see if it can be repaired. I hope that I don't need to buy a new one, altho this one is 22 years old so it isn't like I didn't get my money out of it. LOL

I bought the original washer & dryer set when I bought this house & have replaced the washer once already. I am very limited as to the style I can buy. My washer & dryer are the front loader stacking kind & fit into a small closet in the hall way of my home. They were outside in the garage when I bought the house but I didn't like going out there to wash clothes as it is cold in the winter time. This works much better for me.

I mailed the Romper to my g'son & am waiting for a picture. I will post it when I get it.

Smaller Size Sweaters for the Shelter

Here are several sweaters in the smaller sizes for the Women's Shelter. Right now I am working on some larger sizes. Even tho summer is just around the corner, we don't always have warm weather here. Sometimes it rains all summer long!! So sweaters are still useful esp. in the evenings & nights. If the yarn I am using is thin enough I like to embroider designs on them because the kids love that so much. & the brighter the colors the more they like them. I get lots of cute embroidery designs from Artistic Thread Works & it's just $19.95 for 90 days subscription. You can download as many designs as you choose. Take a look!!

I have Wendy Phillips book of designs for children & am going to make some fairisle sweaters using her books. They are out of print now but you can still find them at the auction sites etc.
