Romper Waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Too Big

The romper turned out to be sooo big on J.R. that I am embarrassed to admit it. It is hard to remember just how small babies can be when you don't have one around for a while. The socks fit though. LOL  This is an 12-18 month size & he is 10 months so I guess I shouldn't have been so surprised that I was off by sooo much. He will grow into it.
I am working on a smaller size now. I am glad that I checked for size before I went off & knit a bunch of them & have them all be too big. I really wanted a picture of him standing up so I could see it better, but my son said they had been out to the lake all day & baby was tired & wanted to nap so they didn't push it.

We are having a GIRL in August. We are all so excited. My Dil is from a large family & wanted several children. The reality of what it costs to raise a child has hit them now & they say that they will settle for 2. At least for the time being. My DIL is a school teacher but is off work to have babies for a couple of years. She plans to go back to work when the new arrival is 2. Right now they are living on one income & are keeping to a strict budget.

I have been dieting & want to lose at least 30 pounds.  I seem to do okay during the day, but when night comes & I am not busy I start to think FOOD!!! Nothing special, just food in general. But I have lost 4 1/2 pounds in 2 weeks so maybe this time it will work out. I think this is the first time I have ever been so determined to lose. When I get the urge to eat I go into my knitting room & knit for awhile & that seems to take my mind off it for a while.

Orders Finished .... Back to Scrappies

Finished my orders until some more come in. I decided to knit a scrappie for the women's shelter while I had the time. It's made with more of the Red Heart Soft Baby that I knitted up on my SR 860, size 2. I did my usual with the short rowed, grafted neckband. The sleeves are also grafted with the loop through loop bind off.

My clothes dryer is misbehaving. I am having the repairman come in on Monday to see if it can be repaired. I hope that I don't need to buy a new one, altho this one is 22 years old so it isn't like I didn't get my money out of it. LOL

I bought the original washer & dryer set when I bought this house & have replaced the washer once already. I am very limited as to the style I can buy. My washer & dryer are the front loader stacking kind & fit into a small closet in the hall way of my home. They were outside in the garage when I bought the house but I didn't like going out there to wash clothes as it is cold in the winter time. This works much better for me.

I mailed the Romper to my g'son & am waiting for a picture. I will post it when I get it.

Baby Romper #2

This is the top to my baby romper that I am making for my g'son. I have been trying for 2 weeks to get to work on it, but my store has been so busy I just didn't have the time. Today I had some time to myself & managed to finish the front of the romper. I choose a small fair isle design for the top & knitted it with DAK, using the interactive knitting option. I am not that great with DAK but interactive knitting is one of it's wonderful options that I have learned how to use. In the photo it looks like white & blue, but is actually a pale yellow & blue.
The Romper is another one of the Ricki Mundstock rompers made on my SR 840 with Millor Andino. Andino is a wonderful yarn for summer time as it is light weight & wears like iron. I imagine that this romper will go through several more babies before it loses it's wear ability. I am going to put snaps on the crotch & 2 buttons on the back of the top. It is going to be a cut & sew neckline.

This pattern is very versatile & with minor alterations can be made with cap sleeves for a girl. Her book "Oh What a Beautiful Baby" is available online. I am planning on making several of these. I have a large bin of Andino that is hopefully going to get knitted up. Also, we have another baby due in August of this year. I'm hoping girl but a boy will be fine too!!
